Carcassonne Again !

10 September 2005: We Return!

But first a short explanation:

You might have noticed that some time has passed since my last entry – which as far as I can tell was on May 16th or so….about one month before we actually returned to the Etats-Unis to organize ourselves for this longer but slower journey.

At that point (mid May), life became more complicated, and internet access became more rare. We spent a lot of time with old and new found friends in Carcassonne, and in Puimisson, and Fabrezon (the latter two being villages about 20 minutes and one hour away from Carcassonne respectively. I plan to fill the travel blog in about those times (maybe the short version?); but don’t want to get too far behind with the current adventure. But it’s all a virtual reality, non? For you, dear reader, the when doesn’t really matter…..

As I write, I am sitting in the comfortable living room of 36 Rue Paul Lacombe, 11000 Carcassonne, France (for those of you who want to either drop in or drop a line – which will be fine, once we locate the key to the mailbox!). The picture above(?) shows my current point of view……

We are settled here for the next 6 to 9 months, depending on the winds, the landlords, and our finances.
